Types of pavers
At Vandersanden, you will find the widest range of clay pavers in Europe. At our modern production sites in Tolkamer, Spijk, Kessel (NL), and Oberlausitz (DE), we produce pavers in a wide range of sizes, colours, and finishes.
Our sizes
The wide range of Vandersanden products gives you plenty of choice when it comes to paver sizes. Our moulded pavers are available in 10 standard sizes based on the traditional KF size (206 x 102 mm), WF size (206 x 51 mm), and DF size (206 x 67 mm).
In addition, we developed the unique Linge® size (245 x 60 mm or 80 mm). The Linge® wirecut paver offers even more possibilities. It is available as standard in 16 different sizes, and custom-made sizes are also available. Would you like to know more about the possibilities? Ask your question.
Two types of pavers: moulded and wirecut
Vandersanden offers two types of durable clay pavers: moulded and wirecut. Both types are produced using different methods, resulting in their own unique appearance and characteristics.
Moulded
A moulded paver is created by pressing clay into moulds. The clay is then removed from the mould and fired. This production method gives moulded pavers their characteristic natural appearance.
Wirecut
A wirecut paver is produced using a vacuum press that creates a continuous clay column (the strand). This clay column is then automatically cut into pavers of the desired size. This production method allows for a wide variety of sizes and finishes. Wirecut pavers have a more precise and sleek appearance.
Sand-covered and unsanded
Like our moulded pavers, our wirecut pavers are available in sand-coated or unsanded versions. Traditionally, moulded pavers were coated with a fine layer of sand to help remove the clay from the mould. Some of this sand remained attached to the surface of the paver.
Today, other production methods make it possible to create unsanded pavers with a more natural and pure appearance.
Our wirecut pavers are available in sand-coated, unsanded (smooth), and planed finishes.

Linge® size
Linge® large-size pavers are unique to Vandersanden. With their length of 245 mm, they give public spaces a distinctive appearance. Because they are larger than standard paver sizes, they create a calmer streetscape. In addition, the Linge® size requires less maintenance thanks to the reduced number of joints.
Drainflow®
Climate adaptation is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Creating climate-resilient public spaces is therefore essential. With Drainflow® water-permeable clay paving, rainwater can infiltrate directly into the soil.
This helps prevent flooding and waterlogging while maintaining the high-quality appearance of traditional clay paving. Drainflow® combines an authentic streetscape with a sustainable solution for rainwater management.
