Prefab construction
Prefab is currently being used in one in three construction projects in Europe, which is set to increase in the years ahead. Prefab construction offers an answer to challenges such as housing shortages, stringent safety and environmental measures and the growing labour shortage in the construction industry.
Prefab facade elements
Building with prefab facade elements, walls and masonry is an easy way to save time. Our prefab lintels, parametric masonry and full brick customisation will make your construction work faster, more accurate and easier.
What is prefab construction?
Prefab construction means that some or all elements of a building are prefabricated at another location, and then assembled in their entirety on site. This makes the construction process smoother and reduces the risk of errors. Prefabricated walls and façade elements can also be produced under climate-controlled conditions, without having to take weather conditions into account.
What are the advantages of prefab construction?
- Time-saving: no more time lost on installing complex facade elements and support structures
- Less errors: the production process is standardised and takes place under climate-controlled conditions, minimising the risk of errors during installation.
- Cost transparency: it is much easier to estimate the price of a prefab house than a traditional construction project. Partial or full prefab construction allows for considerable cost savings relative to traditional construction in the long term.
- A sustainable way to build: a prefab house or building is easier to make airtight, allowing even less energy to escape. Since everything is accurately calculated in advance and custom-made, no materials or energy are wasted. It also requires less transportation to bring everything to the construction site.
Full prefab construction
Fully prefabricated construction requires an integrated approach, coordinating all aspects from the design of the prefab house or building project through to assembly. This is why we developed RoboBrick®: an industrial concept seamlessly integrated into the prefab production process.
