A trowel is a hand tool for a mason. IT is used to scoop out and apply cement. The trowel is used to spread the cement on the bricks and remove any excess. A trowel looks like a triangle with a handle.

These are new bricks with the appearance of reclaimed bricks. They have a slightly more rugged texture than aged bricks.

This is because they are only tumbled after the firing process. The drum through which the bricks pass causes them to bump into one another, causing slight ‘damage’ that results in broken corners and edges. Spraying them with cement pulp during this process gives the surfaces of the brick an extra weathered appearance.

A new facade built with these facing bricks will have a distinctive, rustic look, with the quality of new bricks.
