Paving is a beautiful profession, but the work is hard. We used to take the fact that these professionals would have worn-out backs and knees before the age of 50 for granted. These days, we do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for road surfacers so that they can continue practising their craft in good health as they age. Mechanical paving is indispensable here.

Vandersanden endorses the importance of good working conditions. That’s why we offer ready-made packages for the mechanical processing of clay pavers. We have also installed robot lines in our factories to minimise the physical strain on our own employees. This fully automated process lays and stacks the clay pavers in the correct pattern.

The fully automated way in which our stacking robots operate guarantees extremely stable and tight mechanical packages on sturdy pallets. These packages are tailored to mechanical and vacuum clamps to the extent possible and support the road surfacer when using mechanical processing. A sheet of film or paper is placed between several layers to ensure the stability of the package.

We give transporters additional instructions to prevent the pavers from shifting or falling over during transport. Of course, in addition to mechanical packages, we also supply clamp packages and possibly HULO packages. If required for larger projects, we can collect the used pallets from the mechanical packages at your premises for reuse. No edging pavers are incorporated into the packages.

Mechanical paving in elbow or twill bond? Place the packages diagonally along the paving surface. This way, the operator does not have to manoeuvre the crane as much and their visibility is improved.

The entire regular range of clay pavers is suitable for mechanical paving, whether you choose clay pavers with or without spacers or water-permeable Drainflow® clay pavers. If you choose pavers with a size spread of up to 5 mm, the result is guaranteed to be tight.

Using our robot lines, we can mix, stack, and pack up to three colours into a mechanical package. Your own mix of colours is bound to add extra allure to your public space. When it comes to the exact colour composition and size of the pavers in your colour mix, the choice is all yours.
